By joining this society, Amanda could lose everything she loves. She joins the society and she realizes that it is not what it seems. It turns out that her father worked for the same organization, but he was killed by one of his fellow agents. The man in charge of the Annum Guard kept this secret from Amanda. This led Amanda to believe that Alpha-the man in charge- was a government agent who wanted to keep the organization out of order. However, he was also a corrupt man.  With this information, Amanda is able to take down Alpha and his evil allies.

The second book of the Hunger Games Trilogy was THE BEST!!!!! There is a 75th Hunger Games and this one has to be special since it is another Quarter Quell. Everybody who has ever participated in the Hunger Games must be chosen to participate in it again in the Quell. Katniss and Peeta yet again go into another Hunger Games, but this time, they have alliances. At the end of the story, the Quell was pre-meditated by the Quell Alliance, in which Peeta and Katniss was in. The end consists of District 13 bombing the Quell and saving everyone except Peeta.

Title:  The Hunger Games

Author:  Suzanne Collins

Finally got a chance to read this book! The Hunger Games is about the Capitol who chooses 2 candidates of each gender and 12 Districts, and make them fight against each other in an arena for entertainment. Katniss and Peeta are from District 12, fall in love. There’s adventure, romance, and bravery shown in this book. This novel gets brutal when kids kill other kids for a game, but the suspense is brilliant. At the end of the book, they defy the Capitol together.

The Night Circus

Title:  The Night Circus

Author:  Erin Morgenstern

This is an interesting plot about the magical uses of the brain to create entertaining circus events twisted in a love story that is so intense that it moves to another plane or dimension of life.  The author includes a mystery competition between unknown adversaries which eventually turns into a love story.  The author uses a time frame that transitions between the late 1800’s and the early 1900’s. The setting primarily focuses on the features of the unique circus as it moves from country to country. I found the character descriptions to be entertaining.
