“Midwives” by Chris Bohjalian
This is the engrossing tale of Sibyl Danforth, a Vermont midwife whose patient dies in childbirth during a winter storm. Readers can gather that her actions and interventions were sincere and appropriate for the situation, but the big question is: “Will the jury agree with this conclusion ?”. It’s definitely one of those stories that hooks you right from the start. Enjoy!

A Dog’s Purpose / W. Bruce Cameron

This is a very heartwarming story about a very special dog who is reincarnated many times. The movie based on this book was good but this book is much better. I won’t tell you the ending ( I don’t want to spoil it) but it will have you in tears, have a box of tissues next to you! My grandson bought it and before he even finished it called us and said Grandma ,you and Papa have to read this book as soon as I’m done reading it. He was so excited and enjoyed discussing it once we all read it.

Wired by Julie Garwood
Continues her FBI series.
Typical romance- all the men are handsome & the women beautiful. In addition, they have intelligence and are nice.
Story revolves around problems with hacking in the FBI and every time, Allison, the heroine solves it. Of course, she is combating, a wicked & nasty aunt & uncle who grew her up, a cousin who is an alcoholic and abusive, and, a man trying to steal her new computer program with his backer wanting her dead. All in all a typical life for a Garwood heroine.
