Summer Reading Club Review: And the Mountains Echoed

From Donna Southard

Title: And the Mountains Echoed

Author: Khaled Hosseini

This book is about the intricate life paths of several generations of a family whose origins begin in Afghanistan. I feel that the author developed interesting twists and turns of the characters lives’ that were impacted by political, social, economic and cultural factors. I liked how the author used the power of love to make connections between the characters’ relationships with the realistic events that temporarily test its strength. I really enjoyed reading this book. I highly recommend this book as a plot that exposes the transgression of a generational family through its joys and hardships
