Title: The Star Bright

Author: Andrew Greeley`

A Christmas story involving Jack Flanigan, an Irish Catholic Boston College student, who is studying Russian and Odessa, a Harvard student from Russia. Jack invites Odessa to spend Christmas in Chicago with his dysfunctional family. Russian Orthodox beliefs and folklore meet American commercialized Christmas. As Odessa spins her web of charm and spirituality, love blossoms and peace and joy come to the Flanigan’s contentious family relationships. Although this is different from most of Fr. Greeley’s novels, his writing style is unmistakable and enjoyable.
