44 Cranberry Point

From Elaine Pasquali

Title: 44 Cranberry Point

Author: Debbie Macomber

The inhabitants of Cedar Cove struggle with relationships and a mysterious death that turns out to be murder. Ms. Macomber provides a “cast of characters,” twenty one in all, so the reader can keep relationships straight. An engaging novel. The ending is marred by its soap-operaish finale, when the author tells us that the story’s loose ends will be dealt with in her next book, 50 Harbor Street.

Summer Reading Club Review: Quinn

From Leslie Liebman

Title: Quinn

Author: Iris Johansen

this mystery involved various people trying to find a missing child kidnapped, abused & possibly murdered by an alleged serial pedophile. The FBI agent gets close to girl’s mother & follows them through years of continued searching for either the girl or her remains as well as trying to discover the identity of the criminal. I don’t want to give any more away however the book’s conclusion wasnt very satisfying as criminal is being pursued but you don’t know if he was finally caught when book ends – is there a sequel? I have not seen any listing for another book that continues the story. Very annoying!
