This book was about a romance that occurred after sixty years of age. Two mature adult person found each other at the beach inn during a strong, violent northeaster. The newly divorced woman is the heroine because she protected her three high school children from family disruption by withholding the story of her true love for a man she knew three days. Over ten years later, the heroine Adrienne tells her story to her widowed daughter Amanda. The story tells the reader how she managed the loss, how she lived thru the pain. She shared her pain with her non verbal father who was in a nursing home. Adrienne states, “… He listened and that is what I needed…there was nothing he could say to relieve my pain if he could have spoken.” This was a story of people comforting each other.
