Immortally Yours

From Andrea Kalinowski
Author:  Angie Fox
Immortally Yours
Immortally Yours is an imaginative read. The author combines the human world and the world of the gods/goddesses more closely. In mythology, an occasional god or goddess, attracted by the antics of humans, would assume a different form to visit and/or torment humans. However, in this author’s innovative take on the situation, humans and other non-god creatures, i.e. vampires, vegetarian werewolves, are conscripted. They are pressed into service as M.A.S.H. personnel and there is no furlough. Dr. Petra Robichaud is one of those who has been pressed into service. She is a thoracic surgeon with a little something extra. She is leery of exposing herself to the gods/goddesses lest they target her. Unfortunately, due to her gift/curse, she carries the burden of fulfilling the prophecy. The prophecy foretells the ending of the war and is eagerly awaited by all those pressed into the service of the gods/goddesses. Her gift/curse enables her to save Galen, a demi-god, and he becomes part of the prophecy. Petra is faced with an impossible choice with the reading of the final part of the prophecy. Stay tuned since the author already has a teaser included at the end of this paranormal adventure.

Plain fear : forsaken

From Rosemarie Jerome
Author:  Leanna Ellis
Plain fear : forsaken
Vampires and the Amish, sounds bizarre and I was skeptical at first but the story slowly lured me in until I was hooked.  It begins with a young man running for his life and evolves into a young Amish woman haunted by her dead boyfriend and an ex-cop from New Orleans hunting for his wife’s killer.  It is a dark story of secrets, love, faith and a battle to save a woman’s life and her immortal soul.

Haunted Teachers: True Ghost Stories

Haunted Teachers: True Ghost Stories
The adventures continued with haunted teacher stories.  These ones seemed a bit more frightening than the last set I wrote about.  I definitely think that these ones need to be for the tween set, rather than the younger crowd.  I actually spooked myself with one of these stories:)  Enjoy.

Haunted Campers: True Ghost Stories

From Gina Scaglione

 Haunted Campers: True Ghost Stories
This book is a young adult novel.  I was reading it in order to be able to tell my children some really good ghost stories when we are camping.  My children are only six and seven, yet they actually really liked the book.  At first I was reading it and then retelling them the stories.  By the end, they wanted to hear the stories exactly as they were written.  The vocabulary was obviously not easy for them, but the stories are very descriptive, so the children loved them.  I highly recommend this series of books for a light read, especially if you are camping with your family this summer.  Enjoy, and happy trails:)

The Demon in Me

From Andrea Kalinowski
author: Rowen, Michelle
The Demon in Me
Michelle Rowen has started a new series featuring Eden Riley and Darrak, a demon. Darrak was cursed by a witch and now must possess human bodies to maintain a presence. The series begins with The Demon in me followed by Something wicked. Eden Riley is a low-level psychic and is trying to assist the police in a serial murderer apprehension. When the apprehension goes wrong, the demon’s host body is killed, and Darrak, manifesting as smoke, invades Eden. They must learn how to share the body while attempting to break the curse of possession. Darrak, after living all these years among humans, has acquired some nasty habits, nasty habits to a demon whose main aim is evil. He cares about Eden. The books are suspenseful and intriguing in their description of the creation of Heaven and Hell and who has dominion where and why. A fast-paced read for anyone whose mind can stretch to believe in things seen and unseen. The next book is advertised as That old black magic with no street date as yet.

ReVamped

From Luke, Teen Book Reviewer
author: Diver, Lucienne
ReVamped
Fans of the Twilight Saga will rejoice after reading “ReVamped” by Lucienne Diver. This novel is great for those who like vampire stories. You’ll also like to read this if you’re into action.

The novel takes place during present day. Gina, a teenage girl who was turned into a vampire in “Vamped”, now works for the government. She, her boyfriend, and three other agents are sent to Wappingers Falls, a quaint town in upstate New York, to investigate strange fluctuations in energy. Once there, undercover, they discover a plot of their old vampire enemy and the vampire council to turn the whole town into their feeding grounds.

This novel is humorous, action-packed, and keeps your attention. I greatly enjoyed reading this and would recommend this and any other novel by Lucienne Diver to anyone. On a scale of 1-10 I would rate this book a 7 ½. If you like vampires, action, and comedy then this is the book for you.

Wings

From Alex, Teen Book Reviewer
Pike, Aprilynne
Wings
“Wings” by Aprilynne Pike was the best book ever! It was about a girl named Laurel and one day she wakes up and she a bump on her back. Each morning it grows bigger until there is a flower on her back. It freaks her out. Then she meets a fairy sentry who knows everything about Laurel’s past. Laurel’s adventure is one that never stops. This book was amazing. I brought it to school and everywhere because I couldn’t put it down. I would recommend this book to all girls. But wait, there’s more. There is a SEQUEL to this book. It’s called Spells. So I can’t wait to go get it. But I hope you enjoy this book.
